USERL received a neglect report online. A USERL investigator found many horses on the property in a range of body conditions. One, however, was very low in body condition. Moore County Animal Control was contacted to verify if the property was already under investigation. It was not, and USERL and Moore County Animal Control are working together on the case. The mare, pictured left, was surrendered by the owner. She is a 15 year old Thoroughbred. This mare is doing well in quarantined and being treated for her severe rainrot, which had resulted in weeping sores on her back.
