UPDATE (October 2006): Midget's long career in racing has finally caught up with him and both suspensory ligaments have broken down in the hind. We are trying some things to see if he can be a comfortable pasture horse in the future.

"Midget" is the affectionate name given to him by his trainer as he is smaller in stature than many race horses. All he has known in life is the race track, and somehow managed 28 starts without placing lower than 3rd and without taking a lame step. He is extremely calm and level-headed for a TB and settles right in to any barn. Midget gets a long well with other horses and is submissive. As the only training he has had to this point was for the track, he will need to be re-trained for whatever discipline you choose. He was taken by his foster home on a camping trip, and although he was not ridden, he did extremely well and minded his p's and q's! He has been ridden once since coming in to USERL and was very calm and tried his best to do what we asked of him - they just don't teach "stop" on the race track!!
